Serverless architectures are often positioned as the next big thing in cloud computing, but what exactly is serverless, who is utilizing these tools and services, and how is this ecosystem maturing? In this episode of The New Stack Makers podcast, we spoke to Mike Roberts, co-founder of Symphonia.io, about all things serverless.

Symphonia is Roberts and John Chapin, industry veterans who started using serverless tools a little over a year ago. Roberts has authored the serverless architectures section of Martin Fowler’s website, which has served as an introduction to serverless concepts for many. We asked Roberts to help us establish what exactly serverless is, and what kinds of customers he expects to be adopting serverless in the near term. We also cleared up some concepts around serverless, including the myth of “NoOps.”
